The Swiss branch of the BENU pharmacy chain, which comprises 90 pharmacies, and the pharmaceutical wholesaler Amedis-UE have been part of the PHOENIX group – Europe’s leading integrated healthcare provider with almost 40,000 employees – for many years. PHOENIX operates internationally, is family-owned and has its headquarters in Mannheim, Germany.

Three business units under one umbrella

In order to continue to support the Swiss healthcare market more effectively and comprehensively in the future, the umbrella company PHOENIX Pharma Switzerland will henceforth perform a number of key tasks on behalf of the operating units. This move will not cause any changes to the service companies Amedis-UE and BENU pharmacies, which will continue to operate as before, and will be complemented by the distribution company Pharmapost.

In the future, this new corporate structure will enable PHOENIX Pharma Switzerland to increasingly benefit from the PHOENIX group’s extensive know-how and comprehensive expertise and to act as an important link between healthcare product manufacturers and suppliers and the market.

Actively contributing to shaping the healthcare market

PHOENIX Pharma Switzerland intends to play an active role in shaping the Swiss healthcare market of the future and further increase its attractiveness as a major player and employer. To this end, the company has defined four strategic priorities:

  • The distribution company Pharmapost will be supplying Swiss pharmacies with a growing range of healthcare products, such as the pharmacy-exclusive brand LIVSANE, at an excellent price-performance ratio.
  • Amedis-UE will be repositioned and is intended to actively contribute to changing and transforming the wholesale market.
  • The national network of BENU pharmacies will be greatly expanded. In addition, the company also aims to focus more strongly on e-commerce and act as an omnichannel provider.
  • To do so, it intends to develop a platform for innovative B2B services for the pharmacy market.
