Being where our customers need us
«Our pharmacies are already an important point of contact for health concerns in large parts of Switzerland, » explains Thierry Lannaz, Head of Merger & Acquisition West Switzerland. The BENU pharmacy network currently has 68 branches in French-speaking Switzerland, 27 in German-speaking Switzerland and five in Ticino.
Pharmacies BENU SA wants to further increase its presence throughout Switzerland in the future, also with the help of digital solutions. «As an omnichannel pharmacy chain, we want to be where our customers need us. That's why we are actively looking for new pharmacies in suitable locations, » says Thierry Lannaz. «On the other hand, we have been expanding our online shop for years. »
Around 18,000 health products and perfumes can currently be ordered at competitive prices via www.benu.ch. «Recently, our customers have also been able to have prescription medicines delivered directly to their homes, » says Laurent Vuithier, Head Projects.
Broad range of services
In order to best meet the needs of patients, the branches of Pharmacies BENU SA offer numerous other services in addition to pharmaceutical advice and the dispensing of medicines.
Laurent Vuithier comments: «You can have health measurements carried out at many of our locations. Whether it's blood pressure, cholesterol or gluten intolerance, we support our customers in monitoring and checking levels that are relevant to their health. The vast majority of our pharmacies also offer vaccinations against influenza or other diseases that are permitted under the various cantonal regulations. »
A major employer
The history of Pharmacies BENU began in 1982 and the network in Switzerland has grown steadily since then. «During this time, BENU has also developed into a major employer in the healthcare sector, » says Laurent Vuithier.
Today, Pharmacies BENU employs around 950 people in a wide variety of roles. In addition to pharmacists and pharmaceutical assistants, the company also employs chemists and perfumery advisors. «We are also currently training around 160 apprentices. Promoting young talent is an important matter for us and will continue to be one of our focal points in the future, » concludes Laurent Vuithier.
